Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a multi-cultural family. She was born within South London. Her father is a Nigerian-Swiss, as is her mom who's English. She was a student at The Brit School when she was 14 years old. In London she attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art where her acting degree was earned. While attending the academy, she performed in several performances on stage, such as the King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting journey began with Storm Damage. The actress has been an actor in Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's first film role was Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Following that success her role was Elisha in the one-off BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx and Flipside as Ollie. Also, the ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in the year 2008 as Bambi. Madekwe was the main character in the comedy of 2008 How to Alienate and Lose Friends. The credits on stage for Madekwe are Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe officially made her US debut in the series The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show aired just two episodes at The CW, and was eventually ended. She was cast in February 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. In May of 2013, it was announced that Madekwe who had played a regular role in the previous two seasons had decided to quit the show following a guest appearance in the first episode of the new season. In 2014 and 2016, she starred as Tituba on the show Salem. Madekwe married her long-time love, Iddo. They've collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also had a role alongside her on the TV series Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for the Gemini Award, is a member of a large Hamilton family. The four brothers she had were present as well and included twins Todd & Bram, Brett & Rob. The brothers of Ashley were extremely athletic and played baseball and hockey in the winter as well as in the summer. They grew up playing baseball and arenas. Ashley was never able to actually walk. She would dance. So when she was two and a half and a half, she began to take part in Baby Ballet. It was then that she discovered Ashley's interest in dance. Ashley competed in top-level divisions for jazz, tap hip hop, ballet lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe until she graduated from high school. Ashley won the best soloist honor at each major dance event, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just the few.
